Breathedge 2 gives you several useful tools to help you survive and explore the dangerous areas of space. Some tools are available from the beginning, while others become available after you complete certain quests or find specific materials for the first time.
In this guide, I’ll go through all of the crafting tools currently available in Breathedge 2 Early Access 0.8, including how to unlock each one and the materials you need to make it.
I’ll also cover the tool upgrades currently listed in the Early Access build, so you know which equipment can be improved as you progress.
Breathedge 2 Crafting Tools and Upgrades Guide
Here are the currently known crafting tools, their unlock requirements, and the materials needed to make them.

Crowbar (Scrap)
The Crowbar, also referred to as Scrap, is available from the beginning of the game.
You only need:
- 2x Metal
It is one of the first tools you’ll have access to and is useful for breaking objects and gathering materials while exploring.
Cutter
The Cutter is also unlocked by default.
Its crafting requirements are:
- 4x Aluminum
- 2x Plastic
- 4x Metal
Once crafted, it gives you another way to interact with objects and gather resources around the environment.
Thumper
The Thumper is another tool that is available from the start.
To craft it, you need:
- 4x Metal
- 2x Plastic
Twister
The Twister isn’t available immediately.
You need to complete the Three Antennas quest before you can craft it.
The materials required are:
- 4x Aluminum
- 2x Wires
- 3x Duct Tape
- 2x Plastic
The Twister is also useful for several exploration and achievement-related activities, so you’ll want to keep it once you unlock it.
Medkit
The Medkit becomes available after you obtain Fabric for the first time.
The crafting recipe is:
- 1x Alcohol
- 2x Fabric
This gives you a useful healing option as you continue exploring.
Purified Oxygen
You unlock the ability to craft Purified Oxygen after obtaining an Oxyworm for the first time.
The recipe requires:
- 2x Oxyworm
- 1x Metal
- 1x Ice
Purified Oxygen is particularly useful when you’re heading farther away from safe areas and need additional oxygen to keep exploring.
Alcohol
The Alcohol recipe becomes available after you obtain Alcohol for the first time.
To craft it, you need:
- 2x Ice
- 1x Nutriworm
This is also used as a crafting material for other items, including the Medkit.
Gas Tank
You unlock the Gas Tank after obtaining Refined Metal for the first time.
The recipe requires:
- 4x Wires
- 2x Refined Metal
- 2x Rubber
- 4x Aluminum
This makes Refined Metal an important material to keep an eye out for as you progress.
Flashlight
The Flashlight becomes available once you obtain a Light Bulb for the first time.
You’ll need:
- 2x Wires
- 2x Plastic
- 2x Glass
- 1x Light Bulb
Backpack
The Backpack is unlocked after you obtain the Painted Corpse.
Its crafting requirements are:
- 4x Aluminum
- 2x Plastic
- 4x Titanium
- 4x Electric Tape
The Backpack is especially useful if you’re regularly running out of inventory space while collecting materials.
All Tool Upgrades in Breathedge 2
Some tools can also receive upgrades that improve their effectiveness.
The currently listed upgrades are:

Crowbar Upgrade
The Crowbar can be upgraded with Gear Heft.
Effect: Damage +10
This makes the basic Scrap tool more effective when dealing damage.
Cutter Upgrade
The Cutter can use the Scissors Sharp upgrade.
Effect: Damage +5
Thumper Upgrade
The Thumper can also receive the Scissors Sharp upgrade.
Effect: Damage +12
This gives the Thumper a larger damage increase than the same upgrade provides to the Cutter.
Kettle Upgrade
The Kettle can receive the Foam Protection upgrade.
Effect: Processing +0.5
This improves the Kettle’s processing capability.
Nutri-Pack-O-Mat Upgrade
The Nutri-Pack-O-Mat has the Plastic Barrel Capacious upgrade.
Effect: Capacity +50
This gives the machine an additional 50 capacity.
Those are all of the crafting tools and upgrades currently listed for Breathedge 2 Early Access 0.8.
Several tools are available immediately, while others are tied to quests or obtaining specific materials for the first time. Because Breathedge 2 is still in Early Access, the crafting system can expand with future updates, so more tools and upgrades may be added later.
For now, keeping a good supply of basic materials such as Metal, Aluminum, Plastic, Wires and other crafting components will make it much easier to build the tools you unlock as you progress.
