In Bloodlines, Traits and Flaws play a subtle but critical role in shaping how your character performs in combat, travels the world, or interacts with systems like chakra regeneration, food, and sin. This Bloodlines Traits & Flaws Guide will walk you through:

  • How traits/flaws work
  • How to reroll them
  • All known effects and best/worst ones
  • How to farm Switch Powder and Wormstone to reroll safely

What Are Traits and Flaws?

Traits are passive buffs (up to 4 max)
You gain a random trait each time you destroy a chakra point — once per age-up.
Some are minor, some are build-defining.

Flaws are passive debuffs (up to 2 max)
You get them by completing quests or actions in sinful ways, like killing Lava Rosa instead of pickpocketing him.

You can reroll both Traits and Flaws using a hidden NPC, as long as you have enough Acumen and Switch Powder.

How to Reroll Traits & Flaws

Requirements:

  • 100 Acumen
  • 2 Switch Powder

Location: Ai’s Hideout (Training Grounds)

Path:

  1. Head to Training Grounds
  2. Look for a hidden cave entrance near the void — be careful not to fall
  3. Enter and follow the tunnel to Ai’s door
  4. Press E to open the door if closed
  5. Choose:
    • “I’m not pleased” → Reroll Traits or Flaws

You can reroll as many times as you want, provided you have the items.

How to Get Switch Powder

Step 1: Get a Wormstone

  • Go to Durana Town
  • Find the hidden door nearby (press E)
  • Inside, you’ll find multiple pits — only one is safe.
  • The correct pit is random per server
  • If you pick the wrong one, you die and lose life force

If you survive, press the switch in the room

Exit through the side tunnel

Outside, search the area — you’ll usually find 3–4 Wormstones

Alternative: If you have vertical movement jutsu, you can cheese this process and skip the pits entirely.

Step 2: Enter the Switch Powder Gate

Go to Danan Town

Follow the path to the Switch Powder Gate

Use a Wormstone to open it

(Sometimes you can dash through without one — may be patched)

Drop into the pit to begin a fight:

4 Taijutsu NPCs spawn

They’re dangerous due to high M1 damage and stuns

Defeat them for a chance to get 0–4 Switch Powder

Traits

Top-Tier Traits (Build-Changing)

Life Sucker – Heal 3% life force on each kill (not freshies)

What Doesn’t Kill Me – Heals a bit of HP when you perfect block

The Last Stand – Increased damage when your HP is low (excellent for M1 builds)

Executioner – Grip players faster (great in PvP)

Child of the Flames – Increased chakra regen while burning (perfect for Fire path users)

Hidden Strength – Fully restore food and stamina when armor breaks

Unchained – +15% run speed with broken armor

Agile – Longer dash distance

Saturated – Increased health regen when your chakra is full

Airborne – Aerial attacks propel you further (mobility + combo tool)

Frozen Step – Freeze water below you; enables chakra feed with no regen nerf

Tidal Boost – Lets you chakra jump off water

Decent / Niche Traits

Slash Resist – Reduces weapon (M1) damage taken (not Taijutsu)

Gone With the Wind – Increases knockback from wind skills

Movable – 40% less damage while in hyper armor

Paranoid – You stay in combat longer (anti-flee tool)

Stylish – Free haircuts (cosmetic only)

Devil’s Deal – Gain a chakra fragment on death (decent early-game)

Exalted – Discount at certain shops

Aqua Speed – Faster run speed on water

Useless / Reroll-Worthy Traits

Key Master – Lets you close gates… that’s it. Can’t open them.

Screamish – Lose all food counters after gripping someone

Clumsy – Chance to fail cooking (mild annoyance)

Flaws — Full List & Risk Level

Situationally Useful Flaws

Nomad – You spawn randomly instead of in towns

  • Use cases: Avoid spawn campers
  • Synergy: Great with Obito MS, allows random teleportation exits from Kamui

Common Weak Flaws

Die Hard – Spawn with lower HP and chakra

Die Harder – Lose +2% life force on death (very punishing)

Famish – Lose food counters even when full HP

  • One of the worst flaws. Reroll immediately.

Accountable – Gain extra sin from gripping players

Screamish – Lose all food counters on grip (also bad)

Reroll If You See These (Most Harmful)

  • Die Harder
  • Famish
  • Accountable (if you plan to PvP)
  • Screamish

Trait builds can make or break your efficiency — especially for:

PvP

Speed farming Rio

Gaining life force safely

You do not need to accept flaws — avoid sinful quests when possible
