Azure Latch has just pushed its biggest gameplay shift in recent memory with the release of the Sae Refresh Part 0.5 update. This isn’t just a balance pass or animation cleanup — it’s a full redesign of how Sae plays, opening up new skill paths through a reflex-based toggle system, refined techniques, and tactical creativity. Here’s everything you need to know from this major content drop.

Sae Rework– Logic vs Reflex System

At the core of this update is a new mechanic that gives players control over how Sae behaves in key moments. With the press of a button, you can toggle between two distinct modes:

Logic Mode: Prioritizes structure and control. Actions are sharper, more calculated.

Reflex Mode: Encourages fast-paced, reaction-heavy play. Dash-based movement and surprise variants are key here.

This mode switch system redefines how skills are used — each one responds differently depending on what mode you’re in, giving advanced players room to experiment and adapt mid-game.


New Skill Interactions

Here’s a look at what’s changed in Sae’s toolkit:

Beautiful Destruction

Logic: Clean first-tap with nutmeg counter frames.

Reflex: Replaces heel flick with a short dash after double-tapping.

Rabona Nutmeg

Logic: Standard grounded nutmeg counter.

Reflex: Executes a quick dash through the opponent using Sae’s legacy T-ability.

Drive Shot

Logic: Delivers a curved, long-range power shot.

Reflex: Performs a fast lob, useful for surprise passes or floaters.

Magic Pass

Automatically activates when you’re close to a teammate, firing off a sharp, low ground pass.

Cross Elastico

Now works more like a reactive counter, with new visuals and smoother flow options, especially when chained into Drive Shot.

Flow Skill – “Nuisance”

When in flow and the ball is airborne, Sae can now trigger a powerful volley by using Drive Shot. This is a high-risk, high-impact finisher.


Other Character Adjustments

Yukimiya gets a new T Special: a screw shot that bounces.

Yukimiya’s Gyro Shot has a new timed variant for sharper curves.

Rin’s Awakening now lets him convert Fake Shot into a Trivela.

Kunigami and NEL Isagi now have subtitles for more cinematic immersion.


General Gameplay Improvements

Cooldown GUI now shows T Specials and side-dashes for better tracking.

Team indicators are back, fixing a long-standing visibility issue.

Goalkeeper throw physics have been revised to feel more natural.

Added audio feedback for ball flight to improve game feel.

Goalkeepers now gain temporary invulnerability while throwing or shooting — this helps prevent awkward steals during animations.


New MVPs and Cosmetics

A dedicated Sae MVP animation has been added.

Sae’s Glory is a rare variant with a 1% drop rate that triggers a special visual variant if unlocked.

Balance Tweaks

Rin

  • Curve Shot power slightly increased.
  • Minimum height increased to reduce close-range abuse.

Shidou

  • Formless and Big Bang Drive now shoot lower, allowing better control.
  • Shidou’s Flow duration trimmed by 5 seconds to balance uptime.
