Anime Saga Beginner Guide – Progression, Level Up
Buffs & Traits
Before jumping into battles, here’s something many beginners overlook — buff systems and traits.
Team Buffs: The game features gold and EXP bonuses that apply when you run specific team setups. They’re not active at the moment (as per Koi), but once they are, these will significantly boost your progression.
Traits: These are like passive boosts for your units. Traits matter a lot. Once you get strong units, roll for good traits and equip them wisely. Koi plans to cover this in a separate guide, but just know for now: Traits = Big Advantage.
Stats
Anime Saga includes a stat rolling system, which means each unit can have varying base stats like Health, Attack, etc. Try to get at least decent stats across the board.
Aim for S-rank or above on core stats like Health and Attack.
Higher-tier stats like S+ might exist, and they’ll give your characters a serious edge.
Leveling Rewards
As you level up your account, you’ll unlock tons of free rewards — characters, materials, maybe even currency. Make sure to check and claim them regularly.
Tip: The more you play (even low-level stuff), the more you progress, thanks to these built-in level rewards.
Story Mode Progression
Here’s where things get serious — story mode progression. Anime Saga has a scaling system where enemies get tougher with each new area. Let’s break it down:
1. Leaf Village
Difficulty: Very Easy
- Recommended Units: Even Rares like Ichigo or Goku work fine.
- Great for getting used to combat and leveling a basic team.
2. Marine Island
Difficulty: Medium
- Recommended Units: Start using Epics or Legendaries.
- Rares start falling off here unless highly leveled or trait-boosted.
- Good place to begin EXP farming as boss HP is manageable.
3. Red Light District
Difficulty: Hard
- Bosses here have 3x the HP compared to Marine Island.
- Legendaries are a must. Only a few Epics can carry here, and even then, it’s rough.
- Great for fast EXP farming — 1000 EXP every 4 minutes if you’re optimized.
4. West City (Endgame)
Difficulty: Insane
Nearly impossible without high-level Legendaries, good traits, and/or Mythics.
Senju Beans here give 4x the EXP compared to Red Light District — the grind is real, but the reward is massive.
As of now, some players only beat it using exploits, so don’t stress if you can’t clear it yet.
Raids
Raids unlock all sorts of progression tools:
- Mythic Tickets
- Trait Tokens
- Spell Cards
- Super Spells
- Evolution Materials
Talk to Rem to access the Raid Shop.
Even if you’re solo, raids are worth doing hourly for consistent progression. Bring your best units and deal as much damage as possible — the more damage you do, the better your rewards.
Infinite Mod
Infinite Mode is basically a boss rush for gems, but: It’s very slow and grindy.
Currently, not efficient unless you’re using exploits (which we don’t recommend). As of now, it’s not a required mode for progression — focus on raids and story instead.
Gems
WE suggest not spending real money or gems on EXP items from the shop — they’re just not worth it compared to the rewards from farming. Save your currency for more impactful things like summons.
