The September 2025 Adopt Me Pet Pen Update Guide is one of the biggest changes Adopt Me has ever seen. Pets now grow even when you’re away, and a brand-new system lets you release pets into the wild to earn rewards. Here’s everything you need to know about the Pet Pen, Pet Releaser, new pets, and how to make the most of this update.
Adopt Me Pet Pen Update Guide
Pet Pens
Every house now includes a Pet Pen where you can age up to four pets at once. This changes how players approach grinding: pets can grow while you play, explore, or even go AFK.
- Ages up to 4 pets at once.
- Online rates: 8 Needs per hour (≈800 XP).
- Offline rates: 2 Needs per hour (≈200 XP).
- Pets can only complete full levels in the Pen. You must visit them to progress further.
- Neon pets can also be aged in the Pen.
- Friendship Levels do not increase while pets are in the Pen.
Check on your pets regularly. Even though they passively age, interaction is still required for steady progression.
New Pets & Eggs
Two new legendary pets join the game alongside the Pet Pen system.
- Emberlight – Legendary, with a 5.9% chance from Crystal Egg and 0% from Basic Egg.
- Giant Panda – Legendary chase pet with extremely low odds (0.01% from Basic Egg, 0.1% from Crystal Egg).
Egg Costs and Drop Rates
Basic Egg – 500 Points
- 60% Common
- 35% Uncommon
- 4% Rare

Pet Releaser – Trade Pets for Rewards
The Pet Releaser in the Nursery allows you to exchange unwanted pets for points and eggs.
- Points are based on pet rarity, age, Neon status, and FR potions.
- Releasing pets starts a 7-minute timer (can be skipped with Bucks).
- You can cancel the release before rewards are claimed.
- 500 points = 1 Basic Egg.
- 4,500 points = 1 Crystal Egg.
- Points above the Egg cost become Saved Points, carrying over for future releases.
Tip: Save common pets and aged duplicates to release for consistent point farming.

Balancing Changes
Pet Aging Rebalance: Pets grow faster, making Neons more achievable.
Pet Handler Pro Certificate: Your second equipped pet now gets the same Needs as your first.
Paychecks Return: Players now earn 10 Bucks every 10 minutes again.
Strategy After the Update
Use your Pet Pen constantly – Keep four pets aging while you explore, even when offline.
Release wisely – Trade low-value pets to build toward Basic and Crystal Eggs. Always check the point value before confirming.
Focus on Crystal Eggs – They offer the highest chance of Emberlight and a slim chance at Giant Panda.
Plan around Saved Points – Don’t waste small excesses; they roll over for future releases.
Rebuild Bucks – Paychecks are back, so you’ll steadily earn currency while playing.
The Pet Pen and Pet Releaser completely shift Adopt Me’s core loop. Instead of endless grinding, players now have passive growth and a recycling system for unwanted pets. With Emberlight and Giant Panda as headline additions, there’s more reason than ever to engage with eggs and collections.
This update not only makes pet aging easier but also introduces new long-term progression paths, rewarding both casual and dedicated players.
