If you’re playing Final Fantasy Resonance, side quests are worth completing because they offer much more than extra gil. You can earn weapons, accessories, Magicite, Visions, and even an esper by helping characters and exploring different locations throughout the story.
In this guide, I’ll walk you through all 33 side quests, organized by chapter so you can find the quests available during your progression. I’ve included the quest giver, location, and rewards in tables to make it easier to check what you need without searching through every entry individually.
Some quests also unlock character events and Attribute Bonuses, while others are part of longer quest chains. I’ll explain how these work first, then list every quest and its rewards so you can plan which ones to complete as you progress.
Final Fantasy Resonance Side Quests Guide – Locations, Rewards
Side quests are optional stories that become available as you advance through the main campaign. You can find them by speaking with certain characters, visiting towns, or reaching specific points in the story.
There are 33 side quests in total, including eight character events. Each quest has its own page with further details about the objectives and requirements.
Here are the main things to know before starting.
| Feature | What you need to know |
|---|---|
| Quest availability | Quests unlock at different points in the story, from Chapter 1 through the later chapters. |
| Quest completion | Once a quest becomes available, it remains available according to the guide’s information. |
| Quest chains | Some quests require you to finish another quest first. |
| Character events | Eight quests award Attribute Bonuses that improve a character’s stats. |
| Vision rewards | Seven side quests award Visions. |
| Esper reward | Iron Splitter awards the esper Odin. |
Pay Attention to Quest Chains
Not every side quest can be completed immediately after discovering it. Some require you to finish an earlier quest before the next part becomes available.
The main chains to keep in mind are:
- Mechabo upgrades: Complete the earlier Mechabo quests to unlock the later upgrades.
- Mog Tag: The quest progresses through three rounds, with later rounds becoming available as you complete the earlier ones.
- Reunion: Complete both Elven Maven and Lyrical Riddles before progressing with Reunion.
If a quest doesn’t progress when you reach its location, check whether another side quest needs to be completed first.
Chapter 1 Side Quests: Tailing the Truth
Chapter 1 introduces several optional quests that reward useful equipment, Magicite, and gil. These are good quests to check while exploring the early areas.
| Side Quest | Given By | Location | Rewards |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dream of an Idealist | Soldier | Grandshelt, the Royal Capital | Flamberge, 500 gil |
| Rear Support, Ahoy! | Zile | Grandport Harbor | Magicite Shard, 500 gil |
| Secrets Unearthed | Chloe | Town of Felicitas | Magicite Shard, Monk’s Prayer Beads |
| The Weight of Mercy | Lasswell | Grandport Harbor | Iwakirimaru, 500 gil |
Which Chapter 1 Quests Should You Do?
I recommend checking these quests as you visit each location rather than leaving them all until later. Dream of an Idealist and The Weight of Mercy reward weapons, while Secrets Unearthed gives you Monk’s Prayer Beads alongside a Magicite Shard.
Rear Support, Ahoy! is another straightforward quest to pick up when you’re visiting Grandport Harbor.
Chapter 2 Side Quests: Eternal Blue
Chapter 2 has four listed side quests, including the beginning of the Mechabo upgrade chain. If you’re interested in improving Mechabo, make sure you don’t skip Verun’s requests.
| Side Quest | Given By | Location | Rewards |
|---|---|---|---|
| Arise, Mechabo! | Verun | Dwarven Forge | Magicite Shard, Repaired Mechabo |
| Elven Maven | Silvia | Dilmagia, the Machinopolis | Magicite Shard, 800 gil |
| Lyrical Riddles | Roy | Dwarven Forge | Magicite Shard, 800 gil |
| Mechabo Evolved | Verun | Dwarven Forge | Magicite |
Mechabo Quest Progression
The Mechabo quests are connected, so it’s best to complete them in order as they become available. Start with Arise, Mechabo! and return to Verun when you can continue the upgrade chain.
You should also complete Elven Maven and Lyrical Riddles if you want to unlock the later Reunion quest.
Chapter 3 Side Quests: Wardens of the Aquapolis
Chapter 3 has two listed side quests. Both offer a Magicite Shard and gil, making them useful optional tasks while you’re exploring the region.
| Side Quest | Given By | Location | Rewards |
|---|---|---|---|
| Medicinal Mission | Ilias | Olderion, the Aquapolis | Magicite Shard, 1,500 gil |
| The Tide from the Sky | Soldier | Town of Amore | Magicite Shard, 1,500 gil |
Chapter 3 Quest Tips
When you reach Olderion, speak with Ilias to check Medicinal Mission. You can then visit the Town of Amore to look for The Tide from the Sky.
Both quests offer the same amount of gil and a Magicite Shard, so they’re worth checking if you want additional resources without focusing entirely on the main story.
Chapter 5 Side Quests: Scars of Time
Chapter 5 has a much larger collection of side quests, with rewards ranging from powerful equipment to Visions and character Attribute Bonuses. Several quests are also part of longer chains.

Important Chapter 5 Rewards
If you’re prioritizing rewards, these are some of the quests I’d check first:
- Battle at the Big Bridge: Rewards Genji Gloves when you accept the quest and Genji Armor as listed in the quest rewards.
- Beyond the Blue: Gives Chocobo Nitro and an Attribute Bonus for Lid.
- Last Respite: Rewards Moonlight Ring and an Attribute Bonus for Archwitch Fina.
- Nichol’s Duty: Provides Enchanted Ring and an Attribute Bonus for Nichol.
- O General! My General!: Rewards Wilhelm Vision and Magicite Cryst.
- Victoria Revivified: Gives Victoria Vision and Magicite.
- Mechabo Unleashed: Continues the Mechabo quest chain.
Complete the Mog Tag Quests
The Mog Tag quests are connected, so don’t treat each entry as a completely separate activity. Start with Mog Tag, then progress through More Mog Tag and Even More Mog Tag as they become available.
Their listed rewards include Mist X-Potion, Magicite, and Magicite Cryst. Completing the chain also helps you keep track of the optional content available in Mysidia.
Find the Vision Rewards
Several Chapter 5 quests reward Visions. If you’re collecting these items, pay attention to Errand’s End, Forger of Wills, O General! My General!, The Call from Beyond, and Victoria Revivified.
Check the individual quest requirements before traveling, especially for quests where the quest giver isn’t listed.
Chapter 6 Side Quests: Tranquility
Chapter 6 contains four listed quests, including the one that rewards Odin. If you’re collecting espers or improving character stats, these are important quests to check.
| Side Quest | Given By | Location | Rewards |
|---|---|---|---|
| Iron Splitter | — | Bladerain Stele | Esper Odin |
| Mysidia, Ever Blooming | Sakura | Mysidia, the Magiapolis | Amulet of Magic Absorption, Attribute Bonus: Sakura |
| Reunion | Fryevia | Gaberada, the Undertown | Magicite, 2,500 gil |
| Shimmering Reflections | Fina | Mysidia, the Magiapolis | Blessed Pendant, Attribute Bonus: Fina |
How to Unlock Reunion
Reunion has a prerequisite that is easy to overlook. Before progressing with this quest, make sure you’ve completed both Elven Maven and Lyrical Riddles from Chapter 2.
Once those quests are complete and Reunion becomes available, visit Fryevia in Gaberada, the Undertown, to continue.
How to Get Odin
To obtain the esper Odin, complete Iron Splitter at Bladerain Stele. This is the side quest to prioritize if you’re specifically looking for this esper.
The quest giver isn’t specified in the available quest list, so check the location and quest log for the relevant interaction.
Chapter 7 Side Quests: Reckoning
Chapter 7 has four listed side quests. These quests offer more character-focused rewards, including Visions and Attribute Bonuses.
| Side Quest | Given By | Location | Rewards |
|---|---|---|---|
| A New Leaf | Rain | Airship | Knight’s Medallion, Attribute Bonus: Rain |
| The Admirable Apprentice | Ayaka | Town of Sian | Ayaka Vision, Magicite Cryst |
| The Shield of the Weak | Charlotte | Grandport Harbor | Charlotte Vision, Magicite Cryst |
| The Twin Titleholders | Lasswell | Gaberada, the Undertown | Crest of Criticality, Attribute Bonus: Lasswell |
Chapter 7 Rewards Worth Checking
If you’re focusing on character improvements, A New Leaf and The Twin Titleholders are worth checking because they provide Attribute Bonuses for Rain and Lasswell.
For Vision collection, look for The Admirable Apprentice and The Shield of the Weak. Both quests reward a character-specific Vision alongside Magicite Cryst.
All Character Events and Attribute Bonuses
Character events are especially useful because their rewards go beyond ordinary items. Completing these quests grants an Attribute Bonus that improves the relevant character’s stats.
The listed character-event rewards are:
| Character | Side Quest | Reward |
|---|---|---|
| Lid | Beyond the Blue | Attribute Bonus: Lid |
| Archwitch Fina | Last Respite | Attribute Bonus: Archwitch Fina |
| Nichol | Nichol’s Duty | Attribute Bonus: Nichol |
| Jake | Token Legacy | Attribute Bonus: Jake |
| Sakura | Mysidia, Ever Blooming | Attribute Bonus: Sakura |
| Fina | Shimmering Reflections | Attribute Bonus: Fina |
| Rain | A New Leaf | Attribute Bonus: Rain |
| Lasswell | The Twin Titleholders | Attribute Bonus: Lasswell |
These eight quests are worth completing if you want to improve your party beyond the rewards provided by the main story. Keep in mind that Fina and Archwitch Fina are listed separately, with different quests and rewards.
Side quests in Final Fantasy Resonance are worth your time because they provide equipment, gil, Magicite, Visions, and character upgrades that you might otherwise miss while focusing on the main story.
My recommendation is to use the chapter tables as a checklist, complete connected quest chains in order, and prioritize special rewards such as Odin and the eight character Attribute Bonuses. If a quest isn’t available yet, continue through the story and check its location again later.
With all 33 quests organized by chapter, you can keep track of what you’ve completed and work toward clearing the optional content without overlooking the important rewards.
