Pixel Lineage Pets Guide – How to Get, Hatch, Upgrade

Pets are a useful part of Pixel Lineage because they fight alongside your hero and provide extra damage, healing, Energy, and other combat effects. You can collect different pets by finding eggs while exploring, hatch them at The Ranch, and fuse duplicates to unlock higher rarities.

In this guide, we will explain how the pet system works, where to hatch eggs, how to upgrade your pets, and which abilities each pet family can have. Whether you want a pet that deals more damage or one that helps you survive longer, understanding these mechanics will help you choose the right companion.

Pixel Lineage pets come in eight families, each with its own selection of pets and abilities. Their rarity determines their maximum level and how many abilities they can unlock, so collecting eggs and fusing pets is an important part of building a stronger team.

Pixel Lineage Pets Guide – How to Get, Hatch, Upgrade

You can obtain pets by collecting eggs while adventuring through Pixel Lineage. Eggs can drop from several activities, including:

  • Regular battles
  • Elite enemies
  • Boss fights
  • Treasure

Each egg belongs to a specific pet family and has a rarity. Once you collect an egg, take it to The Ranch, located outside the castle wall, to hatch it.

Hatching gives you a random pet from that egg’s family. The pet also receives three randomly rolled abilities from its family’s available ability pool. However, the number of abilities you can actually unlock depends on the pet’s rarity.

Because pets receive random abilities, two pets from the same family may not perform exactly the same way.

How to Upgrade Pets in Pixel Lineage

There are two main ways to improve your pets: fusing them to increase rarity and leveling them up through battles and feeding.

How to Fuse Pets

You can fuse two pets that have the same family and the same rarity to create a pet of the next rarity.

For example, fusing two Common pets from the same family upgrades them to the next rarity. You can continue this process to work toward stronger pets.

Legendary and Divine pets can only be obtained through fusion, making the system important if you want to collect the highest-rarity companions.

Remember that both pets must match in family and rarity. Having two pets of different families will not meet the listed fusion requirements.

How to Level Up Pets

Pets can gain experience from battles. When you equip a pet, it earns XP from every battle you win.

You can also feed pets spare gear and materials at The Ranch. This gives you another way to develop your companions while making use of extra items from your adventures.

Since each rarity has a different maximum level, upgrading a pet’s rarity also increases its potential for further leveling.

Pixel Lineage Pet Rarities and Max Levels

Pet rarity determines the maximum level and the number of abilities unlocked.

Rarity Maximum Level Abilities Unlocked
Common 30 1
Uncommon 50 2
Rare 70 2
Legendary 90 3
Divine 100 3

Common pets are a starting point for building your collection, while higher-rarity pets can reach higher levels and unlock more of their abilities.

Legendary and Divine pets are especially important because they unlock all three abilities. To obtain them, you need to fuse pets of matching families and rarities through the upgrade progression.

How Pets Work in Battle

Pets automatically assist your hero during combat, providing extra attacks and helpful effects.

Here are the main rules to remember:

  • One pet per hero: Each hero can equip one pet at a time.
  • Pets cannot be targeted: Enemies cannot hit your equipped pet, and pets never die.
  • Charge system: Every round, your pet bites your target and gains one CHARGE.
  • Ability activation: At three CHARGES, your pet uses one of its abilities or performs a pounce that deals double damage.

This means pets contribute even when their special abilities are not activating. Their regular bites provide additional damage, while their charged actions can offer healing, Energy restoration, crowd control, or stronger attacks.

Choosing a pet with abilities that complement your hero can make a noticeable difference in battle.

All Pixel Lineage Pet Families and Pets

Pixel Lineage currently has eight pet families. Each family has three pets and its own egg types. The abilities available to a pet depend on its family.

Egg patterns also indicate rarity: Common eggs have spots, Uncommon eggs have green stripes, and Rare eggs have a blue zigzag.

1. Canine Pets

Canine pets focus on a mix of offensive attacks, poison potential, decoys, and healing.

Canine pets:

  • Scruffy Pup
  • Wolf Cub
  • Frost Hound

Possible abilities:

  • Attack
  • Savage

  • Heal

Canine is worth considering if you want a companion with a balanced selection of offensive and defensive abilities. Depending on its ability rolls, a Canine pet can help you deal more damage, poison enemies, draw attention away from you, or restore health.

Feline pets are suited to players who want offensive pressure, including stronger attacks and the possibility of stunning enemies.

Feline pets:

  • Tabby Kitten
  • Shadow Cat
  • Sabre Lynx

Possible abilities:

Avian pets offer healing, Energy restoration, offensive damage, and electric attacks.

Avian pets:

All Pixel Lineage Pet Abilities Explained

Each pet family has its own ability pool, and a pet’s rarity determines how many abilities can be unlocked. Here is what every listed ability does.

Heal

Heal restores some of your health when you are injured. It is useful when you want extra survivability during battles.

Energy Heal

Energy Heal restores Energy, giving you +1 Energy and sometimes +2. This can help you use Energy-dependent abilities more frequently.

Attack

Attack makes your pet’s bites hit much harder. It is a straightforward offensive ability for players who want their companion to contribute more damage.

Electric

Electric delivers a shock that may stun the enemy. The potential stun makes it useful for interrupting or controlling opponents.

Decoy

Decoy draws the enemy’s attention and makes your hero Fortified for that round. It provides a defensive advantage when you need to withstand incoming attacks.

Savage

Savage is a vicious strike that may poison the enemy. It combines offensive pressure with the possibility of applying a damaging status effect.

Pets are an important part of Pixel Lineage because they provide extra damage and abilities without being vulnerable to enemy attacks. You can find eggs through battles, elites, bosses, and treasure, then hatch them at The Ranch outside the castle wall.

To build stronger companions, collect pets from the same family, fuse matching rarities, and level them up through battles and feeding. Higher-rarity pets can reach higher levels and unlock more abilities, with Legendary and Divine pets requiring fusion.

If you need healing or Energy, look for pets that can roll Heal or Energy Heal. For more offensive utility, consider families with Attack, Savage, or Electric. Try different combinations until you find a companion that works well with your hero and preferred playstyle.
