How the Cooking Pot Chooses a Recipe
The Cooking Pot does not simply select a dish based on the ingredients you intended to use. It checks recipes in the order they are listed and prepares the first recipe for which every ingredient you added is eligible.
For example, if you put two Tomatoes into the pot, it makes Tomato Soup rather than Cooked Veggies because Tomato Soup appears earlier in the recipe list.
This matters when ingredients can be used in multiple dishes. To avoid crafting the wrong meal, check the recipe order before adding your ingredients.
How Seasonings Work
You can also add a seasoning to the Cooking Pot as an extra ingredient. The listed seasonings are:
- Basil
- Lime
- Cilantro
- Guarana Berries
- Azurea Mushroom
- Spider Venom
- Bone
- Algae
Seasonings do not count toward the two or three ingredients required for the main recipe. Instead, the finished dish receives the seasoning’s bonus in addition to its regular food effects.
Starting a recipe also resets the spoil timer of everything in the pot, which is useful to know when managing ingredients.
The Cooking Pot is a useful crafting station in Deep Dish Dungeon because it lets you turn common ingredients into meals with valuable temporary buffs. To make one, you need an Iron Pot and three Iron Rods.
With 16 listed recipes, you have plenty of options for increasing maximum health and stamina, boosting melee or ranged damage, improving movement, reducing fall damage, and lowering weapon stamina costs. Learn the recipe priority order, use seasonings when available, and choose meals that support your next dungeon run.
