If you like getting right into the middle of a pack of enemies and smashing everything around you, Warrior is probably one of the most straightforward and satisfying classes to play in Deskrawl: Idle ARPG. You’re not standing at the back waiting for enemies to come to you. Warrior is built to get close, deal heavy damage, survive the pressure, and then hit even harder.
The class uses Strength as its primary stat and starts with the Woodsman’s Hatchet. What I really like about Warrior is that you aren’t locked into one attack style. As you level up, you unlock different basic attacks, strong attacks, and defensive or utility specials, so you can gradually change how your character fights.
In this guide, I’ll go through every Warrior skill currently listed, what each one does, and where it can actually be useful. Some attacks are clearly aimed at single targets, while others are made for clearing groups, applying Bleed, or keeping you alive when things get messy.
Deskrawl Idle ARPG Warrior Class Guide – Best Build, Skills
Warrior is essentially a close-range bruiser focused on physical damage, burst attacks, defensive abilities, and several powerful area-of-effect options.
Your basic attacks restore Mana, while your Strong Attacks consume Mana for much heavier damage. Specials then give you additional tools such as attack-speed buffs, shields, crowd control, Thorns, and Mana recovery.
That means Warrior isn’t just about repeatedly hitting the enemy.
You’re constantly balancing your basic attack, Mana usage, Strong Attacks, and cooldown-based Specials.
Warrior Basic Attacks
Warrior has four Basic Attacks available as you progress through the game.
You can equip one at a time, and it automatically attacks enemies while also helping you recover Mana.
Valiant Strike
Valiant Strike is the starting Warrior Basic Attack.
It hits one enemy for 80% weapon damage and has a 10% chance to inflict Vulnerable.
At level 10, it increases to 107% weapon damage with a 19% chance to inflict Vulnerable.
It also gives:
- +8 Mana
- 1-second cooldown
This is a simple single-target attack, but don’t underestimate the Vulnerable effect. If you’re fighting stronger enemies or bosses, having a chance to make the target more vulnerable can make your other attacks more effective.
For general progression, Valiant Strike is a very easy attack to stick with because it gives you reliable Mana generation while still having some extra utility.
Cleave
Cleave is where Warrior starts becoming much better at dealing with groups.
Instead of hitting a single enemy, Cleave swings your weapon in a wide arc and hits every enemy in front of you for 50% weapon damage.
At level 10, that becomes 73% weapon damage.
It provides:
- +6 Mana
- 1-second cooldown
- Unlocked at level 15
The individual hit is weaker than Valiant Strike, but you’re getting multiple targets at once.
So when enemies are grouped together, Cleave can be much more useful than a single-target attack.
Bloodblade
If you like damage-over-time effects, Bloodblade is the interesting one.
Bloodblade pierces one enemy for 50% weapon damage and applies Bleeding.
That Bleed deals another 250% weapon damage over 5 seconds.
At level 10, the initial hit increases to 73% weapon damage, while the Bleed remains at 250% weapon damage over 5 seconds.
It gives:
- +7 Mana
- 1-second cooldown
- Unlocked at level 30
The important thing here is that most of the damage isn’t coming from the initial attack.
You’re applying a Bleed and letting that damage continue ticking afterward.
That makes Bloodblade particularly interesting when you’re fighting enemies that survive long enough for the full Bleed duration to matter.
Steady Blow
Steady Blow takes Warrior in a more defensive direction.
It hits one enemy for 60% weapon damage and gives you a stack of Bulwark.
At level 10, the attack increases to 83% weapon damage.
It provides:
- +6 Mana
- 1-second cooldown
- Unlocked at level 45
This is less about raw damage and more about building up your defensive side.
If you’re playing Warrior as a character that wants to stay in the middle of combat rather than constantly avoiding damage, the Bulwark mechanic makes this attack worth paying attention to.
Warrior Strong Attacks
Strong Attacks are your heavier damage abilities.
Unlike Basic Attacks, these consume Mana, so you’ll want to pay attention to your Mana generation before constantly firing them.
There are four Strong Attacks available as you progress.
Flame Strike
Flame Strike is the first Strong Attack you unlock, becoming available at level 5.
It channels flame into a single target and deals 250% weapon damage as Fire Damage.
At level 10, that increases to 340% weapon damage.
It costs:
35 Mana
This is a great example of the basic Warrior gameplay loop.
Your Basic Attack generates Mana, then you spend that Mana on a much stronger attack.
Flame Strike is especially useful when you want to put a large amount of damage into one enemy instead of spreading your damage around.
Half Moon Slash
Unlocked at level 20, Half Moon Slash gives Warrior another way to deal with groups.
You throw a crescent-shaped blade that travels through enemies, dealing 150% weapon damage to every enemy it hits.
At level 10, it deals 213% weapon damage.
The Mana cost is:
55 Mana
The big advantage here is its ability to hit multiple enemies along its path.
So if enemies are lined up or packed together, Half Moon Slash can turn your Mana into a lot of damage very quickly.
Whirlwind
At level 35, Warrior gets one of its classic crowd-clearing abilities: Whirlwind.
You spin toward enemies and rapidly attack enemies around you for 100% weapon damage.
At level 10, that increases to 145% weapon damage.
It costs:
85 Mana
Whirlwind is naturally suited to situations where you’re surrounded.
Instead of attacking one target at a time, you’re turning your entire character into an area-of-effect attack.
The downside is the high Mana cost, so you’ll need a decent Mana-generation setup if you want to use it frequently.
Rending Onslaught
Rending Onslaught unlocks at level 50 and combines multiple hits with Bleed.
You perform three savage cuts against nearby enemies. Each cut deals 100% weapon damage and applies Bleeding.
The Bleed deals another 250% weapon damage over 5 seconds.
At level 10, each hit increases to 127% weapon damage, while the Bleed remains at 250%.
The best part is that the ability costs only:
28 Mana
That’s considerably cheaper than some of Warrior’s other Strong Attacks.
So once you reach level 50, this becomes an interesting option if you want to combine direct damage with Bleed without burning through your entire Mana pool.
Warrior Special Abilities
This is where Warrior gets a lot more interesting.
Specials don’t simply function as another attack. They give you buffs, defensive tools, crowd control, and ways to improve your overall damage rotation.
Rage Shout
Rage Shout unlocks at level 10.
It increases your attack speed by 25% for 4 seconds.
At level 10, the attack-speed bonus becomes 34% for the same 4-second duration.
It has a:
25-second cooldown
This is a straightforward offensive buff.
Rather than using it randomly, it’s more useful to activate Rage Shout when you know you’re about to spend a few seconds attacking continuously.
More attack speed also means your Basic Attack can generate Mana more quickly during its active period.
Rage Shield
If you need more survivability, Rage Shield is Warrior’s defensive answer.
It creates a barrier that absorbs damage equal to 40% of your Max HP and lasts for 8 seconds.
At level 10, the shield absorbs up to 54% of your Max HP and lasts 8.9 seconds.
The cooldown is:
28 seconds
This is exactly the kind of ability you’ll appreciate when you’re surrounded by enemies and don’t have the luxury of simply walking away.
Instead of trying to avoid every hit, you can activate Rage Shield and absorb a huge amount of incoming damage while continuing your attack rotation.
Deadly Hook
Deadly Hook is both an attack and a positioning tool.
You throw a hook that pierces every enemy in its path, dealing 75% weapon damage.
It then pulls those enemies back toward you and leaves them Vulnerable.
At level 10, the damage increases to 88% weapon damage.
It has a:
10-second cooldown
This is particularly useful when enemies aren’t conveniently standing where you want them.
Pulling enemies toward you also fits Warrior’s close-range playstyle perfectly.
You can use the hook to bring enemies together and then follow up with one of your area attacks.
Earthstrike
Earthstrike is Warrior’s big crowd-control attack.
You smash the ground and send a shockwave forward, dealing 300% weapon damage to every enemy in its path while also stunning them.
At level 10, it deals 408% weapon damage.
It has a:
16-second cooldown
The combination of high damage and a stun makes this one of the more versatile Warrior Specials.
You aren’t just damaging enemies — you’re also stopping them from acting for the duration of the stun.
If you’re dealing with a dangerous group, Earthstrike can give you some breathing room while still contributing a large amount of damage.
Iron Thorn
Iron Thorn takes Warrior in a completely different direction.
When activated, you cover yourself in iron spikes for 8 seconds.
During this time, your Thorns increases by 100%, and every second you deal physical damage to nearby enemies equal to 100% of your Thorns.
At level 10, the Thorns increase becomes an impressive 190%.
It has a:
25-second cooldown
This ability is particularly interesting for a build that already invests heavily into Thorns.
Instead of relying entirely on your weapon damage, Iron Thorn lets incoming pressure become part of your damage output.
If you’re standing in the middle of a group, enemies attacking you can effectively help trigger your offensive mechanics.
Molten Might
At level 45, Warrior gets Molten Might, which is one of the most interesting abilities for Mana-heavy builds.
When activated, it immediately restores 40% of your Max Mana.
For the next 8 seconds:
- Strong Attack damage increases by 25%
- Ability Mana costs are reduced by 35%
At level 10, the effect improves to:
- 49% Max Mana restored
- 52% Strong Attack damage increase
- 48% lower ability Mana costs
- 10.7-second duration
And the cooldown is only:
10 seconds
This is a huge combination because you’re getting Mana back while simultaneously making your Strong Attacks stronger and cheaper.
If you’re building around abilities such as Whirlwind or other Mana-consuming attacks, Molten Might can completely change how frequently you can use them.
How Warrior’s Combat Loop Works
Once you put all these abilities together, Warrior’s gameplay becomes much easier to understand.
Your Basic Attack generates Mana while dealing consistent damage.
You then spend that Mana on your Strong Attacks for bigger hits.
Your Specials are what you use to change the situation in your favor.
For example, you could pull enemies together with Deadly Hook, use Earthstrike to damage and stun them, then spend your Mana on an area attack.
Against a tougher target, you can instead focus on single-target attacks such as Valiant Strike or Bloodblade and use your buffs to increase your overall output.
And when things get dangerous, Rage Shield gives you a defensive buffer instead of forcing you to stop attacking.
Warrior Skills and Progression
Here’s a quick look at when the major abilities become available:
| Level | Skill |
|---|---|
| Starting | Valiant Strike |
| 5 | Flame Strike |
| 10 | Rage Shout |
| 15 | Cleave |
| 15 | Rage Shield |
| 20 | Half Moon Slash |
| 25 | Deadly Hook |
| 30 | Bloodblade |
| 30 | Earthstrike |
| 35 | Whirlwind |
| 40 | Iron Thorn |
| 45 | Steady Blow |
| 45 | Molten Might |
| 50 | Rending Onslaught |
This progression means Warrior keeps gaining new tools well into the later levels.
You aren’t simply getting stronger versions of the same attack — you’re gradually unlocking completely different ways to approach combat.
Warrior is built around a pretty simple idea: get close, generate Mana, spend it on powerful attacks, and survive whatever hits you back.
What makes the class more interesting is how many different directions you can take it.
You can focus on direct physical damage, Bleed effects, area attacks, defensive mechanics, Thorns, attack speed, or Mana-heavy Strong Attacks.
The important thing is not to look at every skill as something you have to use simultaneously. Warrior gives you choices, and the fun comes from finding the combination that fits the way you actually play.
If you’re constantly fighting groups, AOE abilities such as Cleave, Half Moon Slash and Whirlwind become very appealing. If you’re dealing with tougher individual enemies, the single-target and Bleed options become more useful.
And once you reach the higher levels, abilities like Molten Might, Iron Thorn, Steady Blow and Rending Onslaught give you plenty of room to experiment with a more specialized Warrior setup.
