It’s a fun experience in Overmortal, dueling with other people or friends, or dueling to see if you can win a fight in the arena! or maybe just some chat drama.
The most important thing is that you are always fighting!.
That’s why this guide exists!.
To have an example of all the things you can do!
Don’t take this guide to the maximum truth btw, some things can be wrong and others can be done in other ways, that’s what duels are for, to constantly improve your builds and what you can build!, try combinations of abilities and relics, even casting orders again and again vs someone you wanna win!
Remember ! Dueling is improving!
First some tips for dueling.
- You can use duels to test builds.
- You can duel others before you hit them in the arena to see if you can win, and then if you win, you can fight again in the arena for free points.
- The Demonspire and Pandemonium you can kite them and run to wait your cds back or wait for your pet to defeat the boss.
- You can use duels to flex your muscles.
- You can practice your use of manual attacks for later in world apex.
- You can try to win duels with manual mode.
- Br is not the most important thing, is the damage P or M, and the Casting order.
Casting Order
Well, first let’s start with the basics of pvp.
When we fight with other cultivators, it is necessary to recognize that the fights are not based entirely on br, no no.
Seems like that at first in the virtuoso or nascent realm, but the pvp aspect is based on your attacks and your time resisting the other attacks, the more time you buy to make your casting order works, more chances to win right?.
First we need to see this. Casting order.
What you see there, is the more basic order of abilities of Magicka.
The order of abilities is the most important thing because you’re gonna make that every time you reset your cds! every battle!.
Maybe at first you don’t realize the importance of this, because cleaning Demon Spire is easy or getting ranks in the arena is simple.
But the more you play the more you notice that you can break more floors with a good casting order in demon spire or more important.
When you start to duel you notice something, more if you are a corporia user.
You can lose if someone has a shield or more stuns! or for some reason, someone makes more damage than you with the same br!.
Well this is very simple, you can do more damage if you put your buff before your attacks!, this is the start of casting orders.
PVE- Casting Order
The Pve is the most basic, it doesn’t really matter that much later because you always wanna start a duel, but for farming and demonspire is always useful, but like other guides say, every time you fight, you need the shield first for more resistance to early damage or you lose!
And then you get the debuff out for some cd calculations that i do not talk about in this guide, then Buff to boost your damage and go full damage with abilities first, curios and AOE damage and relics, but that’s an example.
To put more simply.
Order of Casting for Pve Example: Shield, Debuff, Buff, Aoe Attack, Attack
This is an example of Corporia.(Disclaimer: don’t use that many pagodas, I only use them because i want to farm more)
And then PVP, the more important thing here and why I made this guide.
First we need to make sure you understand something, the pets are not as useless in pvp as they seem!
You can lose if their pets are there the whole battle, causing damage to you.
They can make you lose a few hits of your first cycle of your casting order, even if it’s a turtle it can make you lose half of an entire cycle of casting order, making you a walking target!
That’s why you use after the shield, AOE damage to clean the pets faster and then start to focus on the main target.
Then you can choose paths, having another shield for tanking the time you spent taking damage while clearing pets, or having both shields from the beginning.
For example,
Order of Casting for Pvp Example: Shield,Aoe Attack, Debuff, Buff, Attack
Notice that the stuns are lower in the casting order, this is entering the realm of not basic, but the stuns are important too in the order!
You can put them both at the beginning and at the end, but something is recommended.
Like corporia, having them at the beginning to try to remove the shield and then nuke them. Like magicka, have them at the beginning to not let the corporia do that.
Abilities
With that, next we’re gonna see the abilities!
This is more complicated than everything else, but since it is a basic guide I won’t focus on the complicated, we gonna go with the simple things and just give you the order with some basic explanations!.
The abilities are the main damage and ways to attack in the game, even in the spirit world are more important than relics, but normally the order can change.
If you want a good pvp maybe you only choose 2 stuns and good damage with debuff of banners like magicka for easy winning.
Or maybe double stun with corporia to stun the magickas to nuke their shields.
The possibilities are endless.
But First Corporia and Magicka have 2 paths to fokus.
Left and Right, that makes this easier.
The Abilities are in mortal world and later in spirit world or others later, but first this is an example of how spirit world abilities looks, the paths open more, but that’s later, first mortal world abilities and see this Spirit World Magicka Abilities!.
Magicka-Abilities
You can see that magicka always has a shield, because in the right path there is a spiritual wall and wind walker abilities!
And you can see that magicka have aoe early in the game compared to the corporia later even in late game! making it easy to farm stuff in realms.
They even have to debuff and stun early!.
But what path to choose? Well, this is easy! left left!
You see, blizzard are better even in the spiritual world when lv 80, but phantasm is not much in comparison even if you used more late game for damage, but for early game you choose blizzard!, because you want to duel! but as an example, you can always go to phantasm and try that path.
Like magicka, you always want more damage!
That makes this order very simple, here are some examples!
Magicka Classic Build
For Magicka Mortal World Abilities left path:
Sear 20, Root Charm 39, Qi Blast 49, Pyrokinesis 69, Blizzard 69
For Magica Mortal World Abilities right path:
Spiritual Wall 49, WindWalker 69, and Phantoms or Tigrams
And if you want more later, another example!
Void Break Magicka Build:
Blizzard 99, Phantasm 99, Tonitrus-Metal, Tonitrus- Wood , Dragon Taming, Dragon Tamin Water
This is a basic order of abilities, and if you wanna know how to spend your advancement knowledge, well Pyrokinesis has the highest multiplier for M. Attack in Magicka Mortal Abilities!.
Corporia-Abilities
Well this is more difficult to make, you see why here.
This is a problem in early game farming, that makes you go for the path of farming early normally.
First we have two options in this path.
Demon trap left and Hail of Swords Right.
Demon trap is an ability good for pvp for the damage and ,lv80 affix, and only when you want to focus in duels early game(Incarnation).
Hail of Swords is a good for pve damage and only need to be lv 69 to be good in the spiritual world!,normally is a choice to hit for farming like magicka early.(Nascent).
Like corporia you only have 1 thing!
Damage and hp!, your debuff in your tree makes you do more damage but that’s it!
That’s why you need to go for the shields later.
And why not Buddha’s palm or Ruthless build path you ask?
Because first Ruthless are expensive and Hail of sword is more cheaper to get early than Ruthless for AOE damage comparing to the price and damage of HoS(Hail of Swords) and DT(DemonTrap), but obviously, you can always go try then, i never try Ruthless before for example, and Buddhas palm is good to for pvp early, it is a cheaper version of Demon Trap.
That makes your order more problematic, well some examples of builds!
Corporia Classic Build(Pve)
For Corporia Mortal World Abilities right path:
Death Touch 49, Glacial Sword 69, Hail of Swords 69, the change to magicka abilities to gain, Spirit Wall to 49 and WindWalker 49 and then Spirit Wall until 60 for the debuff cleaner affix.
Corporia Classic Build(PvP)
For Corporia Mortal World Abilities left path:
Dragon Forms 49, Gods Fall 69, 49 Buddha’s palm maybe 69 or go to Demons Trap directly,
having GodFall lv80 and Pyrokinesis lv65, and then Spirit Wall to 49 and WindWalker 49 and then Spirit Wall until 60 for the debuff cleaner, you can get a demon trap and try to make the ability the most lv possible for damage to, but the point is gaining the demon trap fast and gaining the shields to start dueling!.
And if you want more for later examples of builds!.
Void Break Corporia Build:
Hail of swords 99, Demon Trap 99, Asura Slash wood, Asura Slash water, Dragon Taming, Dragon Taming Water.
For PvP in spirit world(After Reset):
Double Shield(Shields of Mortal or Dragon Tamed Water for the debuff cleaner affix), Triple Asura Slash Lv Equally, Demon Trap 80
Lv the shields to max or demon trap to max first.
For PvE spirit World(After Reset):
Triple Asura slash, Demon Trap,Hail Of Swords, Vidyaraja Palm.
If you don’t reset hail of swords, keep hos and level up vidyaraja palm instead.
This is a basic order of abilities, and if you wanna know how to spend your advancement knowledge, well Death Touch has the highest multiplier for P. Attack in Corporia Mortal Abilities!.
But Remember, Demon trap is good after lv49 but is like 60k or 90k Citrines to make the second build.
But even like that, you need to change to demon trap for later builds, but you can wait until having 205k citrine or 190k citrine to change v-palm to asura.
What is asura? well… the spirit world abilities!

Relics
And for the Final stage of basic dueling, you need to combine the casting order and abilities, and make your relic build!.
For some people this is more complicated and for others it is simpler, we can even make tables of which are the best relics and which are the worst, but one thing is clear.
Relics depend so much on your realm and abilities you have later,for example.
Corporia in early game until vb, use relic “seals” like a maniac to nuke the high cd shields of magicka to nuke them and win the duels.
Magicka in early game use only 1 or 2 shields like tigrams or pearl to tank all the duels with the shields abilities, making them more tanky than corporia early.
This changes so much when you hit vb or incarn late, the game suddenly depends more on your relic build, that’s why you need to start learning a few things.
Relics for corporia have more damage limit than magicka.
Magicka does not benefit from wearing AOE relics that much compared to corporia for having so many abilities of aoe, but you can always use them later.
You can wear the opposite armor or robe for gaining better M or P Defense.
You can always carving your main 3 items first before carving the relics.
The relics upgrade order, like Yin yang Sect Say: Are Weapon 20 lvs Higher than the other relics always, and the other relics are 20 lower or more.
Example: Sword lv60, Relics lv40.
And go on with the tips, there are many things to learn with the relics and about the equipment, but idk all, that’s why i’m gonna only give some examples of the type of builds you can make, for you to test, and some tips of what do in the mortal world before going free in spirit world! like a bird!
Relics-Magicka
The relics for magicka are a little more special early in the mortal world, because they normally have more uses depending of the order of people in your server, like for example.
If your server has more corporias than magicka, you can always go, 2 Tigrams for shield, and 2 banners with 2 amulets for debuff and damage.
But something is clear early, Banner is always a good option for fighting corporia users in early game, when they don’t have debuff cleaner.
And Tigram is better than Pearl early even if the cd is higher.
Even you can sell that Caudron,Gourd and Mirror is not that much use in early game until incar, because is basically more aoe damage, comparing to the good old amulet that go perfect with blizzard to make damage, for example: 4 amulets, 1 tigram, 1 banner.
The builds are endless, but until vb is a classic builds, because in vb and spirit world, you can start using more Gourd, Mirror and Cauldron for farming mobs, even using more pearl for lower cd, because corporia have more damage, or even more tigrams, like 3 tigrams, 3 amulets build for later spirit world, but for mortal world, here some examples.
The Classics Magicka:
5 Amulets, 1 Tigram- You don’t need shields, you need damage.
4 Amulets, 2 Tigram- If i need more damage, and corporia are not that strong early.
3 Amulets, 2 Tigram, 1 Banner-Classic pvp.
4 Amulets, 1 Tigram, 1 Banner- Classic pvp, but more glass.
3 Amulets, 1 banner, 1 Pearl, 1 Tigram- More pvp but with less cd.
4 Tigrams, 1 Amulet, Gourd- Farming Special
3 Amulets, 1 Tigram, 1 Banner, 1 Cauldron-Other Farming Special
2 Pearls, 2 Banners, 1 Mirror- Farming?
2 Cauldrons, 1 Amulet, 2 Tigrams, 1 Banner- I want to pvp, but I want Farming to.
4 Gourds, 1 Amulet, 1 Tigram- Well I don’t want to fight, I only want to farm.
