The Pinball Machine is one of the most important systems in Clash of Critters and honestly, most players underestimate just how much progression is tied to it early on.
At first, it just looks like a fun little gacha machine where you throw pinballs and collect random rewards. But once you start progressing further into the game, you quickly realize the Pinball system basically controls:
- Critter progression
- Candy income
- Event progression
- Resource farming
- Ranking up critters
- Limited-time rewards
- Multiplayer events
A huge portion of your account strength eventually comes from how efficiently you use your pinballs.
One thing I noticed after playing for a while is that newer players often waste tons of pinballs without understanding how multipliers, event slots, or jackpots actually work. Then later they suddenly hit progression walls because they burned valuable resources inefficiently.
This guide explains everything properly:
- How the machine works
- What every slot does
- Which events matter most
- How multipliers work
- When to save pinballs
- Which mistakes to avoid
- And how experienced players maximize value from every session
Clash of Critters Pinball Guide – Bumpers/Slot, Events
The Pinball Machine is essentially the heart of progression.
Every launch gives chances at:
- New critters
- Candies
- Extra pinballs
- Event materials
- Jackpot minigames
- Raid rewards
- Utility items
Candies are especially important because they directly increase your account and critter levels.
That means even “bad” rolls usually still contribute to long-term progression somehow.
The machine also constantly rotates special events, which massively increase the value of using pinballs during certain periods.
Because of this, experienced players usually avoid randomly spending all their pinballs the moment they earn them.
Timing matters a lot.
Every section of the machine has its own purpose and probability rate.
Some slots focus on progression.
Others focus on events.
Some exist mainly for utility or bonus rewards.
Understanding which slots matter most helps a lot when deciding how aggressively to spend pinballs during events.
Top Left Capsule Bumper
This bumper slowly fills a gauge over time.
Once full, it rewards:
- A random critter
or - Additional pinballs
This reward has a daily limit, meaning eventually you stop receiving rewards until the next daily reset.
For beginners, this bumper is actually extremely important because free critters early on help accelerate star progression much faster than expected.
Even later into the game, extra pinballs from this bumper still feel valuable.
Top Right Shield Bumper
This bumper gives shields for protecting your camp during raids.
If your shields are already maxed, the bumper effectively becomes useless until shields are consumed again.
A lot of players ignore shields early on, but once raids start becoming more common, maintaining protection becomes surprisingly useful.
Especially if you actively store resources.
Center Card Slot
Landing in the center slot rewards random cards containing:
- Candies
- Pinballs
- Bonus rewards
The biggest advantage is that rewards stack with multipliers.
This slot only has around a 3.3% hit chance, which makes it fairly rare compared to the candy slots below.
During Island Gold Rush events, this slot can also reward Energy Drinks.
Honestly, getting repeated center hits during high multipliers feels incredibly satisfying because the rewards spike very fast.
Bottom Candy Slots
The bottom sections are where most of your consistent rewards come from.
These slots primarily reward candy, but during events they gain additional functions.
The important thing to understand is that event farming mostly revolves around targeting these sections indirectly through volume and multipliers.
Bottom Far Left Slot
This slot primarily rewards candy.
During certain Rate Up style events, this slot may also contain:
- Cakes
- Lightbulbs
- Screws
- Other rotating event items
The slot changes depending on the active event.
This section has roughly a 25.1% landing rate, making it one of the most commonly hit areas on the board.
Bottom Mid-Left Slot
This slot becomes extremely important during event rotations because it handles many multiplayer event currencies.
Depending on the event, it rewards:
- Fishing Rods
- Gold Coins
- Magic Fertilizer
This slot has around a 22% landing rate, which makes it fairly reliable for event farming.
One thing I learned pretty quickly is that multiplayer events become dramatically easier once you start saving larger pinball stacks before they begin.
Trying to compete with low multipliers feels painfully inefficient.
Bottom Mid-Right Slot
This slot also handles rotating event currencies.
Depending on the event, it can reward:
- Skateboards
- Energy Drinks
Just like the Mid-Left slot, the value scales massively with multipliers.
Bottom Right Slot
Very similar to the Far Left slot.
Usually rewards candy, but can rotate event items depending on the current active event.
This section has one of the highest hit rates on the machine at around 25.5%.
Jackpot Slot
The Jackpot Slot is honestly one of the most fun parts of the entire machine.
Even though it only has around a 1.7% chance to trigger, it unlocks several different minigames and bonus interactions.
These include:
- Raiding camps
- Critter duels
- Feeding minigames
- Critter search events
- Event currency rewards
Some daily quests even require Jackpot interactions.
Jackpot Minigames
Camp Raids
You invade another player’s camp and try to steal rewards.
This adds a surprisingly fun PvP-style element to progression.
Critter Duels
You choose boxes hoping to counter enemy critter types.
Very luck-based, but still entertaining.
Feeding Minigame
You visit another player’s camp and feed their critters for free.
Both players benefit:
- They receive food
- You receive candy rewards
This system became much more interesting after the puzzle-style update.
Critter Search Minigame
This one gives you 30 seconds to find hidden critters around another player’s camp.
The more you find:
- The more candy you earn
Simple, but honestly pretty enjoyable during longer grinding sessions.
Pinball Multipliers
Multipliers are one of the biggest progression mechanics in the entire game.
Instead of launching one pinball at a time, multipliers consume larger amounts for significantly better rewards.
The higher the multiplier:
- The faster event progression becomes
- The better your farming efficiency becomes
- The stronger your reward spikes become
Multiplier Unlock Requirements
Current unlock requirements are:
| Multiplier | Pinballs Needed |
|---|---|
| x1 | Default |
| x2 | Default |
| x3 | 240 |
| x5 | 360 |
| x10 | 720 |
| x20 | 1,200 |
| x40 | 2,400 |
| x60 | 4,800 |
| x100 | 7,200 |
Higher hidden multipliers like x150 and x200 also exist but their exact requirements remain unclear.
Quick Capture Feature
Once you reach x60 or higher multipliers, the Critter Catcher minigame unlocks Quick Capture.
This lets you instantly claim all critters instead of manually catching them.
Honestly, once you get used to Quick Capture, going back to lower multipliers feels painfully slow.
This is one of the biggest reasons experienced players hoard massive pinball amounts before major events.
Event System Overview
Events are one of the primary reasons players save pinballs.
Every event contains:
- 150 reward tiers
- Exclusive resources
- Limited progression rewards
- Multiplayer rankings
- Trophy rewards
- Critter progression materials
The more efficiently you farm event items, the faster your account grows.
Mad Invention Event
During Mad Invention, players collect:
- Lightbulbs
These are obtained from the event-marked slot on the machine.
At x1 multiplier:
- Each successful hit gives 4 Lightbulbs
The location rotates whenever the event returns.
Critter Party Event
During Critter Party, players collect:
- Cakes
The event works almost identically to Mad Invention.
Each successful x1 hit gives:
- 4 Cakes
This event used to feature rotating boosted critter lineups before the system changed later.
Rebuild Event
During Rebuild, players collect:
- Screws
Again, the event slot rotates between appearances.
At x1:
- Each hit grants 4 Screws
Fishing Contest
The Fishing Contest is one of the more competitive multiplayer events.
Players collect:
- Fishing Rods
using the Bottom Mid-Left slot.
You compete alongside teammates to catch the heaviest fish and score higher than rival teams.
Top placements also reward decorative trophies for camps.
One thing I noticed is that coordinated teams massively outperform random groups here.
Marathon Event
The Marathon event introduced:
- Skateboards
You team up with 3 other players and race collectively against other teams.
This event heavily rewards active players with large pinball reserves.
Zobo Shooter Event
This event added:
- Gold Coins
Players enter arenas and shoot different Zobos for rewards.
Different arenas:
- Change reward quality
- Change chest rarity
- Change score potential
Honestly, this became one of the more rewarding events for active grinders because chest drops can give surprisingly useful rewards.
Cozy Farm Event
During Cozy Farm, players collect:
- Magic Fertilizer
Teams compete to grow crops and strengthen Tatari.
This event feels much more relaxed compared to competitive modes like Fishing Contest or Zobo Shooter.
Rate Up Event History
Older versions of the game used rotating boosted critter banners.
These events increased the appearance rates of specific purple-rarity critters inside Critter Catcher.
Some notable boosted critters included:
- Frostnip
- Punchimp
- Sparkit
- Voltfawn
- Manteeny
- Zappur
- Pyropup
- Tindercub
- Buddi
- Voltkit
Eventually, the system changed toward reward-based Wishboxes instead of fixed boosted pools.
Honestly, the newer system feels healthier overall because players get more control over which critters they invest into.
