Far Far West can feel pretty slow at the beginning when you are trying to earn gold, unlock upgrades, and level up your character. A lot of players spend hours doing random side objectives or fighting every enemy they see, only to leave with very little profit at the end of a run.
After playing the Canyon map multiple times, many players discovered that the fastest way to make gold is not by clearing everything. Instead, the best strategy is rushing specific hidden objectives, unlocking the gold mine as quickly as possible, grabbing the gold, and extracting immediately before wasting time on unnecessary fights.
This guide explains a fast and beginner-friendly farming route that focuses entirely on speed and efficiency. It is especially useful if you want to level up faster, farm gold consistently, or unlock upgrades without spending hours grinding.
Far Far West Gold Farming Guide
Your character level matters much more than your weapons during these runs. Higher levels make farming smoother because you gain better survivability, movement, and perk combinations.
If you are still very early into the game, it is worth spending a little time progressing naturally first before trying to speed farm Canyon runs.
The goal here is simple:
- Move quickly
- Avoid unnecessary combat
- Unlock the gold mine
- Extract fast
- Repeat the process
The faster each run becomes, the more gold you earn over time.
Best Perks for Gold Farming
Some perks make this farming route dramatically easier. You do not absolutely need every single one, but having them will make your runs much smoother.
Gold Prospector
This is easily the most important perk for farming. If you have access to it, always bring it.
Since the entire purpose of this route is earning gold quickly, this perk massively improves your overall rewards and efficiency.
Speedy Gunzales
Movement speed is incredibly valuable in Far Far West because most of your farming time is spent traveling between locations.
Having one copy is already helpful, but two copies makes the route feel much faster and safer.
The less time you spend running across the map, the more runs you can complete per hour.
Healthy Boi
Extra survivability helps a lot during rushed runs.
You are not trying to clear the entire map, so sometimes enemies will still be alive while you move through objectives. Having additional health gives you more room for mistakes and reduces random deaths.
Best Spells for Fast Runs
Spells make a huge difference during speed farming because they save time and help you avoid dangerous situations.
Fireball
Fireball is one of the best early spells for farming runs because it destroys gold mines very quickly.
It also works well against groups of enemies blocking narrow paths or cave entrances.
Even low-level Fireball is useful, so this should be one of your first priorities.
Portal
Portal is optional, but it becomes amazing once unlocked.
Being able to reposition quickly or skip parts of the route saves a surprising amount of time during repeated farming runs.
Players focused entirely on efficiency usually end up loving this spell.
WISP
WISP becomes very useful later into the game because it protects you while mining or interacting with objectives.
This is especially helpful when enemies start surrounding you during higher-level runs.
Instead of stopping to fight, you can simply continue the objective while WISP keeps you safer.
Pistolero
Pistolero acts like a temporary turret companion.
It helps distract enemies while you mine, escape, or complete objectives. Some players even combine it with Portal tricks to duplicate placements and create stronger defensive setups.
Even without advanced tricks, it is still very strong for solo farming.
Bandito
Bandito is basically your personal bodyguard.
The summon follows you around and fights enemies automatically using melee and ranged attacks. This is extremely useful when you are trying to move fast without constantly stopping for combat.
It becomes especially strong during escape sequences or while completing dangerous objectives.
Avoid Unnecessary Combat
One of the biggest mistakes beginners make is fighting everything they see.
Far Far West rewards speed much more than full map clearing during gold runs.
If enemies are not directly blocking your objective, it is usually better to:
- Run past them
- Dodge attacks
- Keep moving
- Focus only on the mission
Of course, sometimes clearing small areas is necessary, especially if enemies are interrupting objectives, but your main focus should always be efficiency.
Difficulty Settings
Interestingly, many players have noticed that higher difficulties do not significantly improve gold rewards for this farming strategy.
Because of this, Easy difficulty is usually the best option for pure farming efficiency.
You finish runs faster, survive more consistently, and deal with fewer frustrating situations.
Unless you specifically want challenge or better combat rewards, Easy mode is usually the smartest choice for speed farming.
First Sheriff Star Location
The first Sheriff Star is usually considered the hardest part of the route.
In this area, you must shoot several hidden targets scattered around the location to unlock a giant safe containing the Sheriff Star.
The targets are intentionally hidden, so your first few attempts may feel confusing.
Take your time learning the layout during early runs because once you memorize the target positions, this section becomes much faster.
A few helpful tips:
- Look carefully around rooftops and cliffs
- Listen for audio feedback when hitting targets
- Use movement speed perks to reposition faster
- Ignore unnecessary enemies nearby
This location becomes much easier after repetition.
Second Sheriff Star Location
The second location is much simpler.
Once you arrive, your goal is to find a shovel and dig at the correct location.
At the moment, the Sheriff Star has a fairly consistent spawn location near the right side of the shovel area close to the wall.
Compared to the first objective, this one is very quick once you know where to search.
If enemies appear nearby, it is often faster to quickly grab the star and leave instead of fully clearing the area.
Third Sheriff Star Location
The third location involves exploring a cave near a rope travel point.
Once you reach the area:
- Find the cave entrance near the lower-right side
- Collect dynamite nearby
- Blast through the blocked cave sections
- Continue deeper until reaching the Sheriff Star
This section can initially feel dangerous because caves are narrow and enemies can trap you easily.
Using Fireball or companion summons here makes the route much safer and faster.
Do not waste time looting everything inside. Your goal is simply reaching the end as quickly as possible.
General Farming Tips
Memorize the Route
The biggest time saver is simply learning the map.
Your first few runs may feel slow, but eventually you will naturally remember:
- Target locations
- Shortcut paths
- Enemy spawn areas
- Dynamite spots
- Fast extraction routes
Once that happens, your farming speed improves dramatically.
Always Keep Moving
Standing still too long usually creates problems.
The longer you remain in one area:
- The more enemies appear
- The more resources you waste
- The higher the chance of dying
Movement and speed are your greatest tools during farming runs.
Ignore Side Quests
Side quests can be fun during casual play, but they slow down dedicated gold farming significantly.
If your only goal is maximizing profits, focus entirely on:
- Sheriff Stars
- Gold mine unlock
- Mining gold
- Extraction
Everything else is optional.
Far Far West becomes much more enjoyable once you stop treating every run like a full completion attempt.
This farming strategy works well because it focuses only on the most profitable objectives while avoiding unnecessary distractions. After a few successful runs, you will start earning gold much faster and progressing far more efficiently.
At first the route may seem complicated, especially if you are unfamiliar with Canyon, but once you memorize the important locations it becomes surprisingly relaxing and consistent.
If you are farming solo, prioritize survivability and movement speed. If you are playing with friends, splitting objectives and covering each other can make runs even faster.
