Let’s be honest—leveling in Last Epoch can either feel smooth and fast… or painfully slow if you’re doing it wrong. The difference isn’t just your build—it’s how you approach XP.
Most players waste hours killing the wrong enemies or farming inefficient zones. This guide fixes that and shows you how to level fast from early game all the way to endgame.
Last Epoch Season 4 Leveling Guide – Best XP Farming
If you remember just one thing, make it this:
Only fight enemies that are higher level than you (but not too high).
You get the maximum XP bonus when enemies are up to 10 levels above you. Going beyond that doesn’t give extra benefit, and fighting enemies at your level or lower gives much less XP.
So the goal is simple:
- Stay slightly under area level
- Skip low-value enemies
- Focus on high XP targets
Not all enemies are worth your time.
You should prioritize:
- Magic enemies
- Rare enemies (highest XP value)
If you’re in an area where enemies are your level or lower, don’t waste time clearing everything—just move forward quickly.
This one change alone can speed up leveling massively.
Speed Matters
In early game and even mid-game, survivability isn’t your main concern.
What you want instead is:
- High movement speed
- Strong AoE damage
Why? Because:
Faster clears = more kills = more XP
Pick a skill that hits multiple enemies and build around damage and speed first. You can worry about defense later.
Movement Speed = Faster Leveling
This is one of the most underrated things in leveling.
You should aim to stack movement speed early using:
- Boots with high movement rolls
- Rings like Aroreal Circuit (huge boost if you get them early)
With the right setup, you can reach insane movement speed during campaign, letting you:
- Skip weak enemies faster
- Reach high XP zones quicker
Shrines
Shrines are huge for leveling, especially XP shrines.
Whenever you find one:
- Clear as many enemies as possible
- Focus on rare and magic mobs
This is basically free bonus XP, and a lot of players completely ignore it.
Endgame XP Farming
Once you reach Monoliths, leveling changes completely.
You’re no longer grinding randomly—you’re farming efficiently.
Step 1 – Only Do XP Reward Echoes
In Monoliths, always prioritize echoes that reward XP tomes.
These give way more XP than killing mobs.
Your loop becomes:
Complete objective → collect XP reward → move to next
Don’t waste time fully clearing echoes—just finish objectives and move on.
Step 2 – Use Weaver Tree to Boost XP
Once you unlock the Weaver system, you can manipulate rewards.
What you want to do:
- Block other rewards (gold, glyphs, runes, keys)
- Leave XP rewards unblocked
This increases the chance of getting XP echoes.
Then take the node that gives:
Chance to double rewards (including XP)
This is a huge boost over time.
Step 3 – Get XP Blessing Early
When you defeat the Abomination boss, you can choose a blessing.
Always take:
Increased Experience Blessing
This boosts ALL XP you gain going forward.
Step 4 – Rush Empowered Monoliths
This is where leveling really speeds up.
Empowered Monoliths introduce:
- Corruption scaling
And higher corruption = more XP.
So:
Get here as fast as possible
Advanced XP Farming Strategy (Best Method Right Now)
This is where things get really efficient.
Lostwood Folly Setup
First, complete Lostwood Folly.
This adds:
- Stronger enemy packs
- More enemies in nearby echoes
More enemies = more XP.
False Temple Farming
Now place False Temple echoes around it.
This map is amazing because:
- High enemy density
- Tons of shrines
- Fast clear potential
And with the Lostwood buff:
Even more enemies = even more XP
XP Shrine Abuse
False Temple has a lot of shrines, including XP ones.
When you get an XP shrine:
- Clear aggressively
- Focus on elites
This is one of the fastest XP bursts in the game.
Sepulcher of the Lost Trick
If you find XP reward echoes:
- Place Sepulcher of the Lost nearby
This gives:
Extra chest rewards based on nearby echoes
Which includes XP rewards again.
