When the Quest Becomes Available
The roaming oak quest does not appear immediately when you start the game. You must progress your save until Day Two. Once Day Two begins, a new quest becomes available in your quest list.
Open your quest log and look for a quest related to a mysterious sender. This is the chain that leads to the roaming oak unlock.
Talking to Andrew and Patty
Track the new quest and follow it to Andrew. Speak with him to trigger the first step of the chain.
After that, the quest will direct you to Patty. You can track her location directly from the quest menu, which makes this step simple. Walk to her location and continue the dialogue to move the quest forward.
Entering the Building and Taking the Photo
Once you finish speaking with Patty, the quest will send you inside a nearby building.
Go inside and take the required photo. This part is straightforward and mainly serves as a story checkpoint that pushes the quest into the gathering phase.
Collecting Five Timber
After the photo step, you will be asked to collect five pieces of timber.
Hit trees around the map and gather timber until you reach the required amount. Any standard tree can be used for this part, so choose an area with multiple trees close together to finish it faster.
Once you have all five, return to the quest marker and deliver them.
Meeting Heat and Triggering the Final Step
The quest will then direct you to an NPC named Heat.
Track Heat, go to his location, and interact with him. You will see a floating bubble nearby. Jump and touch the bubble to complete the final interaction step.
This action finalizes the quest chain.
Unlocking the Roaming Oak Tree
After completing the final interaction, the roaming oak tree becomes permanently unlocked on your account.
From this point forward, a roaming oak tree will spawn at random locations every day across the map. You can harvest it once per day to obtain Roaming Oak Timber, which is used for higher-value crafting and upgrades.
