Call to Arms Gates of Hell Ostfront Finest Hour DLC Guide

The Finest Hour and The Eagle and the Lion campaigns hide far more beneath their surface than their main objectives suggest. Scattered across both storylines are optional challenges, secret events, hidden interactions, and achievement triggers that are easy to miss unless you know exactly where to look. This Call to Arms Gates of Hell Ostfront Finest Hour DLC Guide breaks down every one of them, mission by mission, explaining not only what you need to do, but also when and why each objective becomes available.

Call to Arms Gates of Hell Ostfront Finest Hour DLC Guide

1. Tears and Sweat – Secret Objectives

No Man Left Behind
As soon as the mission starts, your medics begin moving wounded soldiers to safety. They cannot die at any point. Keep infantry nearby and clear out any unit that approaches their route. Near the end, a message appears about a critically injured soldier. Bring a medic to him and interact with the medical prompt that appears on the right side of your UI.

Echoes of the Great War
During the defensive preparation phase, you control two bunkers along your main line. The right one is empty, but the left bunker hides a crate blocked by debris. Toss a standard fragmentation grenade at the clutter to clear the entrance, then search the crate inside. You’ll find a Lewis gun and ammunition.

Queen of the Desert
Once you reach the counterattack phase against the captured headquarters, two hostile tanks appear near the position. Destroy both to complete the requirement.

Zeroed In
Your radio operator plays the key role here. Use him to call fire missions directly onto the captured headquarters, specifically targeting the Flak 2 cm position and the 3.7 cm Pak. Both must be destroyed via radio-guided support.

Counter Battery
The BL 6-inch 26-cwt howitzer is your tool for this task. Wipe out any three enemy artillery pieces with it and the objective registers.

Clear Skies
Later in the mission you gain access to a light tank. Use its cannon or machine gun to shoot down three enemy aircraft while they strafe the battlefield.

2. The Battle of Arras (Skirmish) – Secret Objectives

Retribution
Eliminate at least ten enemies in very quick succession. Grenades, tank MGs, or an ambush setup work extremely well.

Top Gun
Destroy three enemy vehicles within a short window. A well-positioned AT gun or tank ambush makes this manageable.

Vice Grip Recovery
A Matilda lost during the convoy ambush can be found nearby. Repair it fully to complete the objective.

3. Dynamo – Secret Objective

Unlike Tom
During the air battle sequence, make sure your RAF fighters win the engagement. Shoot down enough German aircraft so the RAF retains air superiority.

4. Pegasus Bridge – Secret Objectives

A Guy with a Big Moustache
Interact with the local civilians and request assistance. Dialogue prompts appear once you reach the key points around the village.

Eastern Front Trophies
Look for an Ushanka and a crate of beer. Pick up the hat while your soldier is carrying the beer crate.

Hands Off!
Before the enemy crew can man the KwK 39, eliminate them. They spawn and run toward the gun, so act quickly.

5. Battle of Villers-Bocage (Skirmish)

Cooked!
Destroy a German tank by causing an ammunition cook-off. Side or rear shots are the fastest way to achieve this.

Carjacked!
Capture any German light vehicle. Clear the crew and send one of your soldiers to take control.

Splash One Wittmann!
Hunt down and destroy Michael Wittmann’s Tiger. It has increased durability, so use concentrated AT fire.

6. Goodwood – Secret Objectives

(These objectives depend on how you approach each mission phase.)

Pawn Promotion
Complete the first objective using infantry only. Keep vehicles out of the engagement.

Call an Ambulance!.. But Not for Me!
Track down the artillery observer attempting to flee the map and kill him before he escapes.

Churchill Dragont
An offensive objective tied to eliminating key armored threats using Churchill tanks.

Minesweeper
Clear minefields or use engineers effectively in irregular tactical scenarios.

Engineering Corps
Rely on engineering units to solve the mission’s universal support tasks (repairs, construction, or clearing).

Close Ground Support
Defend your units using close-range support actions, often with armored vehicles or assault infantry.

7. Arnhem Hell – Secret Objectives

Why Die for Arnhem?
Force the German garrison to withdraw without engaging them directly. This often means capturing critical points or applying indirect pressure that triggers their retreat script.

Career Shift
If all of your AT guns are destroyed, assign a PIAT to any surviving crew member from those guns.

Doomed Tea Party
Locate and recruit the Dutch resistance fighters during the mission.

I’ll Take Two
Ask the resistance fighters to gather more ammunition for your troops.

8. The Dash of XXX Corps (Skirmish)

Wicked!
Burn enemy soldiers using flamethrowers or incendiary weapons.

Tamed the Cat!
Capture a German Panther. This requires disabling it without destroying the ammunition or fuel components, then repairing it.

Rescue Stranded Paratroopers
Find and save the American paratroopers lost behind enemy lines.

9. On to the End

Undeathly Shadow
Reach the British lines without being spotted and without killing anyone. Move slowly, use cover, and avoid patrols.

Networking
Complete every optional activity found across the mission. Keep track of side objectives as they appear on the map.

10. The Liberation of the Old

Fare Dodger
Use the locomotive and track switches to reposition the rail carriage blocking the Jagdpanzer. Once the track is clear, the vehicle can be freed.

Hangover
Repair the Comet tank, then locate all schnapps crates scattered across the map and load them inside. There are five in total.

GERMAN CAMPAIGN – THE EAGLE AND THE LION

1. Case Yellow

Headless Horseman
Shoot the turret off a Matilda I. Aim for the turret ring with AT guns or high-powered AP rounds.

2. Highlanders and Ghosts

The Caveman Experience
Search the area for a hidden cave containing stashed British equipment. Explore cliffs and depressions carefully.

3. Sword Beach

Good Timing
Use the detonator at the correct moment to destroy the tank advancing along the beach.

Express Recovery
Repair any damaged armored vehicle during the mission.

4. Against the Tide (Skirmish)

Humiliating
Capture a Churchill tank (Mk IV is guaranteed to work). Disable the crew without destroying the vehicle, then repair it.

Hat Trick!
Shoot down three British fighters in a row. Anti-aircraft placements or vehicles with strong roof MGs help greatly.

Shot Down!
Destroy the British reconnaissance aircraft as it appears over the map.

5. Cutting the Highway

This mission contains no secret objectives.

6. The Black Friday

Spicy Plantation
Lay at least one hundred mines. Engineers must be kept alive throughout the deployment process.

Just Like I Thought
Find the Dutch resistance hideout hidden somewhere in the mission area. Search for structures off the main roads.

All Hands on Deck
Repair the malfunctioning howitzer encountered during the mission.
