How to Start the Chubby Chipmunk Event

Once you log in during the event period:

  1. Claim your free Chubby Chipmunk — found near the event area.
  2. Place it in your garden to activate its abilities.
  3. From there, your chipmunk will automatically eat fruits in your garden every few minutes and gain weight over time.

Tip: Favorite your fruits to prevent the chipmunk from eating them if you’re trying to save specific ones.

How the Chipmunk Works

Every few minutes, the chipmunk eats a fruit and gains weight (exact gain varies based on its current age and size).

Each time it eats, it spawns an acorn in the garden or around the map. These acorns can be collected for random rewards like:

    • Master Sprinklers
    • Nutty Chests
    • Reclaimers
    • Toys and Treats

The main goal is to grow your chipmunk to 50kg. Each weight milestone unlocks better rewards, and some exclusive pets and seeds are only available at specific weight thresholds.

Acorn Rewards (Passive & Side Quest)

Collecting acorns gives a chance to earn items such as:

  • Nutty Chests
  • Energy Chews (instantly refresh a pet’s ability cooldown)
  • Cosmetics (Acorn Mirror, Acorn Rug)
  • New Seeds: Fern Tail, Acorn Squash
  • New Pets like the Hierax and Chinchilla

These side rewards are entirely optional, but extremely useful if you want to maximize progress or farm rare items quickly.

Weight Milestones & Rewards

Here’s a simplified chart of what you unlock as your chipmunk gains weight:

Weight Reward Highlights
1.25 kg Nutty Chest
6 kg Acorn Squash Seed
25 kg Fern Tail Seed
30 kg Hierax Pet
50 kg Pecan Seed + Event Completion

After reaching 50kg, your chipmunk stops gaining weight and must be reset for 1 trillion shekels or 89 Robux if you want to replay the event.

Nutty Chest Contents

The Nutty Chest is a key reward box and can drop the following:

  • Hazelnut Seed
  • Pimon Seed
  • Idle Chipmunk
  • Farmer Chipmunk
  • Acorn Pet
  • Chinchilla Pet
  • Fortune Squirrel

All New Pets in the Update

1. Farmer Chipmunk

Effect: Grows all Nutty plants 1.5x faster.

Verdict: Not useful outside the event.

2. Idle Chipmunk

Effect: Every 12 minutes, plays a song that restores ~13% hunger to other pets.

Great for: AFK pet aging setups.

3. Hierax (Unlocks at 30kg)

Effect: Converts random fruit into Fisher Berries (sells for ~20k shekels).

Note: Avoids favorited fruits.

4. Fortune Squirrel

Effect: 17% chance every 7 mins to apply Jackpot Mutation (x50 money multiplier).

Alternative to Golden Goose, which had only a 1% chance.

5. Chinchilla (Extremely OP)

Effect: Every 30 minutes, makes another pet use its ability 3 times in a row.

Use With: Raccoon, T-Rex, or other powerful pets for insane value.

Highly recommended to obtain.

All New Seeds & Plant Values

Seed How to Get Avg Sell Price Notes
Hazelnut Nutty Chest (35%) ~40k shekels Most common drop
Pimon Nutty Chest ~55k–80k shekels Decent value
Acorn Squash 6kg weight ~14k shekels Lower-tier reward
Fern Tail 25kg weight ~1,800 shekels (unconfirmed) Massive plant size
Pecan 50kg reward ~90k–95k shekels Final reward
Acorn Ultra rare drop (1%) ~110k–150k shekels Potentially 7.7M with Friendbound mutation (x70)

Nutty Fever Event (Community Submission)

Inside the event area is Nutty Fever, a limited-time community goal system:

Submit plants to fill the global bar.

The rarer the plant, the more points you contribute:

    • Common = 1 pt
    • Uncommon = 2 pts
    • Rare = 3 pts
    • Legendary = 4 pts
    • Mythical = 5 pts
    • Divine = 6 pts
    • Prismatic = 7 pts
    • Transcendent = 8 pts

Pro Tip: Spam tomatoes or low-tier seeds for fast farming.

Once triggered:

  • Your chipmunk activates abilities every 30 seconds instead of usual time.
  • Huge time-saver — always participate when active.

Mutation: Melty Nutty

A new exclusive passive reward mutation only from the Chubby Chipmunk event:

  • Melty Nutty Mutation
    • Every 20 mins: Pet has 20% chance to trigger another ability twice.
    • If it fails, pet loses one age level.
    • Can’t be obtained from the mutation machine.

High-risk, high-reward — best used on support pets with fast recharge abilities.

New Cosmetics

The update also adds cosmetic fences and crafting content:

  • New Fences: Bamboo, Lantern, Vine, Flower, Light, Ancient Oak
  • New Craftable Fruit: Evo Apple
    • Requires all prior evolution fruits
    • Can be evolved up to level 4

Resetting Your Chipmunk

After completing the event:

  • You can reset your chipmunk for:
    • 1 trillion shekels
    • or 89 Robux
  • This lets you restart the weight gain progression, collect more rewards, and farm passive drops again.

The Chubby Chipmunk update is one of the best events yet in Grow a Garden, introducing:

  • A layered event system with active and passive rewards
  • A fun goal of growing a pet through natural gameplay
  • Excellent pets like the Chinchilla and Fortune Squirrel
  • Valuable new seeds and cosmetic content

Whether you’re a new player or a long-time fan, this event offers a mix of grind, rewards, and collection that’s fun and worth investing time into.
