Once your Town Center reaches level 13, the Drill Camp system unlocks in Kingshot. This feature completely transforms how you manage your heroes, allowing you to level dozens of heroes using the experience of only five.

What is Drill Camp?
Drill Camp is a system that lets you sync the levels of all your other heroes to the lowest level among five selected “Drill Instructors”—without using any Hero EXP on them.

- All other heroes placed into Drill Slots automatically match the lowest Drill Instructor’s level.
- You can reset your old investments and reclaim EXP from heroes you no longer use.
Drill Camp
Drill Camp includes two main sections:

Level Drills Tab – How to Set Up Instructors and Slots
This is where the core functionality happens.
- You select 5 Drill Instructors—these are the only heroes you’ll manually level up using Hero EXP.
- Below them, you’ll see Drill Slots.
- Any hero placed in a Drill Slot will instantly level up to match the lowest-level Drill Instructor.
For example:
If your five Drill Instructors are level 40, 42, 41, 39, and 35, then all Drill Slot heroes will become level 35, regardless of what their original level was.
Important: The slot heroes are only “visually” upgraded—they don’t consume any EXP. If you remove them from Drill Camp, they revert back to their original level.
Level Resets Tab – Recover EXP from Old Heroes
Before you had Drill Camp, you probably leveled up heroes you no longer use. Now that you have the Drill system, that EXP is wasted—unless you reset them.
- The Level Resets tab allows you to reclaim the Hero EXP used on older heroes.
- Once reset, that hero becomes eligible to be placed into a Drill Slot and benefit from the level sync—without needing EXP.
- This is the best way to reallocate EXP from outdated or situational heroes to your top-tier Drill Instructors.
How to Change Drill Instructors
To replace a Drill Instructor:
- Go to the Level Resets tab.
- Select and reset the Drill Instructor you want to remove.
- Once reset, that hero will be removed from Drill Camp.
- The next highest-level hero (not already in Drill Camp) will automatically take their place.
There is no direct swap button. You must reset the hero if you want to make room for another Drill Instructor.
Drill Camp Scaling – More Slots Over Time
As you upgrade your Town Center, more Drill Slots become available. This allows you to cover an increasingly large roster of heroes using only the EXP from 5 instructors.
This becomes especially valuable once you unlock new generations of heroes, need to rotate your team for new PvE modes, or want to experiment with multiple PvP builds without overcommitting EXP.
Example Use Case: How to Use Drill Camp Properly
Let’s say you have the following setup:
- Drill Instructors:
- Amadeus (Level 40)
- Helga (Level 42)
- Saul (Level 38)
- Howard (Level 41)
- Quinn (Level 35)
Your Drill Slot heroes will all be level 35, matching the lowest Drill Instructor.
If you reset Quinn, the new lowest Drill Instructor might be level 38. Suddenly, every Drill Slot hero becomes level 38, improving your entire roster without spending any additional EXP.
