In this chapter, I would like to introduce you to the Desert Storm Battlefield event in Last War. This Last War Desert Storm Strategy will explain the event and the details, but it will not provide a specific strategy as this should always be flexible depending on the opponents we face.
In my opinion, the most important aspect of Desert Storm is communication. Therefore, Discord or a similar tool should definitely be used to respond quickly to changing circumstances.
Last War Desert Storm Strategy – Map, Matchmaking, Rewards
When does the Desert Storm event take place?
The Desert Storm Battlefield takes place every Friday. In the days before, there is a registration phase during which you can sign up for the event. Without registration, there is no access to the battlefield. Please pay attention to the registration deadlines, which are also communicated in the daily newsletter.
The event lasts a total of 40 minutes, and everyone should be ready about 15 minutes before the start: firstly, to discuss the strategy on Discord, and secondly, to recall all troops to the base, as these are needed on the battlefield.
Who can participate?
Any Top 32 alliance can participate in the Battlefield Desert Storm. Each alliance can register 20 starting players and 10 substitutes. Team adjustments are not possible after the registration phase.
Important: If your base is located in Capitol territory, you cannot participate in the event. You must first move your base outside of Capitol territory.
What is the Battlefield about?
During the event, the goal is to collect as many points as possible on the battlefield. There are various ways and types of points to consider.
Initially, points are divided into alliance points, which are needed for victory, and player points, which affect personal rewards at the end of the game but are not crucial for victory or defeat.
How are points awarded?
Initial Points from Buildings
Each time we capture a building on the battlefield for the first time, we receive initial alliance and player points according to the table in the “Points Overview” section one minute after capturing the building. Depending on the building, these are quite good points. These points are awarded only once per event.
Desert Storm Holding Points from Buildings
Once we have captured a building, we receive holding points per minute for both the alliance and the player according to the overview. The more buildings we hold, the more points we receive.
Collection of Supply Boxes
Collecting supply boxes in the north or south of the battlefield also awards alliance and player points. These boxes appear every time a building is captured and should be collected as quickly as possible. Each box gives 1000 points.
Attacking Enemy Bases
Attacks are inevitable, but they do not provide alliance points, only player points.
Scoreboard
The scoreboard at the top of the battlefield displays the current number of points for us (blue) and the opponent (red), the accumulating points per minute, the number of players per side, and the remaining time.
Desert Storm Battlefield
The battlefield is a desert valley where various buildings are arranged in a ring around the silo. Below you will find descriptions and positions of the individual buildings on the battlefield.
The Valley and Starting Zones
Upon entering the battlefield, there are the so-called safe zones on each side where players’ bases are gathered. In this safe zone, you cannot be attacked but can send your troops to the battlefield.
The Silo
The silo is the central structure on the battlefield. At the start of the battle, it is not available. After 10 minutes, the battle for the silo can begin. The silo provides the most initial and holding points.
Oil Refineries
There are two oil refineries on the battlefield. Both are available at the start of the battle.
Tech Center
The tech center is also available at the start of the battle. It does not provide many points but speeds up march speed and reduces the cooldown of teleportation (more on this below).
Info Center
The info center is available at the start of the battle. It provides few points but reduces the time from capturing a building to the start of point distribution from 60 seconds to 30 seconds.
Field Hospitals
Four field hospitals are available from the start of the battle. They have high strategic importance as they produce 15 new units every 10 seconds, which can help you replace lost troops.
Arsenal
The arsenal becomes available after 10 minutes. Capturing it increases your own attack, defense, and HP values by 15%.
Mercenary Factory
The mercenary factory becomes available after 10 minutes. Capturing it reduces the opponent’s attack, defense, and HP values by 15%.
Oil Fields
The two oil fields become available after 20 minutes and can be used to collect points; unfortunately, they do not provide an initial capture bonus.
Last War Desert Storm Map Overview
Here is an overview of the entire Last War Desert Storm map. You do not need to remember all the names of the buildings, but you need to know their locations during the battle when a fight breaks out or you are assigned the task of capturing a building.
It has proven effective in communication to refer to positions as clock times. For example, the hospital at 5 o’clock corresponds to the lower right hospital.
Desert Storm Points Table
The following table shows the points that can be achieved per structure for the team and the individual player. Initial points are the points awarded for the first capture, while holding points are the points distributed per minute of holding the structure.

User Interface
The user interface is somewhat different, so here is a brief explanation of the important elements.
Scoreboard
The scoreboard shows the number of current points for us (blue) and the opponent (red), the accumulating points per minute, the number of players per side, and the remaining time.
Desert Storm Battle Map
The battle map shows the status of all buildings.
- Yellow: not occupied
- Red: Occupied by opponent
- Blue: Occupied by us
- Red/Yellow: Opponent is capturing
- Blue/Yellow: We are capturing
The buildings blink when there is a battle. You can shift the view by tapping on the battle map.
Note: Unlike in the regular game mode, when used all troops are automatically and immediately ordered back to the base.
