Heroes of Hammerwatch 2 Tier List – Best Classes Guide 2025

S Tier

Rogue – Poison & Toxic Cloud

The Rogue has always had great evasion, but with the right trinkets, it becomes even deadlier. In the first Heroes of Hammerwatch, there was a trinket that dropped bombs on evasion, wiping out enemies instantly. Toxic Cloud is an upgraded version of that, covering a wider area and melting everything in its path.

Beast Master & Ranger

The Beast Master remains a great pick for its reliable pets. The Ranger’s Wind Weaver is solid, though the spread of its attack can feel a bit random. Pairing it with a piercing weapon makes it more effective.

Warlock – Chaos Blade & Chaos Rift

The Chaos Blade is incredibly satisfying to use, even though the Chaos Rift feels secondary. There’s an upgrade that fires projectiles after each swing, allowing you to attack from a safer distance.

Sorcerer – Lightning Ball

The Sorcerer’s Lightning Ball is fun to play, though it requires charging. It’s great for clearing hallways but struggles in boss fights due to the class’s low durability.

B Tier – Best for NG+ Farming

Paladin – Immolation

This ability does insane damage and makes the Paladin much tankier. However, activating it feels a bit delayed, which can be frustrating.

Sorcerer – Ice Build

In the first game, the Sorcerer’s ice balls were smooth and powerful. Now, they feel clunkier with fewer projectiles. Magic shop upgrades allow them to home in on enemies or explode, but these effects are chance-based, making the build unreliable.

Warlock – Soul Vortex

Soul Vortex is an excellent farming tool. The passive ability fires homing missiles when you attack, which adds consistent damage. Unfortunately, it lacks the power needed for boss fights.

C Tier

Warrior – Tyrant (Chains Build)

The chains feel powerful and satisfying. While the Warrior isn’t the most exciting class, the chains add a fun layer to the gameplay.

Rogue – Grenade Build

The Artificer Suit upgrade lets the grenade explode on impact. While useful, some players prefer the default timing mechanic. The suit does provide extra armor, which helps the Rogue survive longer.

Wizard – Transmutation Build

Transmutation increases strength and dexterity, which can be further boosted by magic shop upgrades. While it lacks actives, the passive stat boosts make it an interesting class to experiment with.

Ranger Warden

The Warden is a great crowd control class. With vine traps and passive whirlwinds, it can clear enemies while holding its ground. However, its healing ability is weak, making it less effective in boss fights.
